Pull up a chair at Dallas Elks Lodge #71 and you'll understand within minutes why it holds a 4.7-star rating across 152 reviews. This is not a stuffy fraternal hall collecting dust. It's a genuinely active community where the pool is packed in the Texas summer, the banquet room fills up for milestone celebrations, and members who grew up in Elks lodges across the country, from Bend, Oregon to right here in Dallas, feel instantly at home.

Tracey, the Exalted Ruler, sets the tone. Reviewers call her out by name because that kind of personal, attentive leadership is rare. The lodge sits at 8550 Lullwater Drive in the Lake Highlands area of northeast Dallas, a neighborhood that rewards exactly this kind of anchor institution. Longtime Dallasites know this address. New members discover it and wonder how they went so long without it.

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks has served American communities since 1868, and Lodge #71 carries that legacy forward without letting it become a museum piece. The energy here is warm, the people are real, and the sense of belonging is something members describe as immediate.

What We Offer

Lodge #71 offers a full range of member amenities and event facilities that few private organizations in Dallas can match. The outdoor swimming pool is a genuine highlight, drawing members and their guests through the long Texas summers for a relaxed, resort-like afternoon without leaving the neighborhood. It's the kind of amenity that turns a membership card into something you actually use every week.

For events, the lodge's banquet and event hall handles weddings, receptions, retirement parties, memorial services, and community fundraisers with equal ease. Catering coordination, flexible room configurations, and on-site staff support make planning straightforward. Sports and social activities round out the calendar year-round, giving members regular reasons to show up beyond the big occasions.

Membership in the Order of Elks also unlocks reciprocal privileges at lodges nationwide, so whether you're traveling for work or visiting family, your card opens doors. Prospective members can inquire through dallaselks.org to learn about the application process and upcoming open events.

"A very friendly Lodge, I’m so happy they have a swimming pool. I grew up in the Elks in Bend Oregon. My husband is an Elk member and so we go quite a bit. Tracy the ER is amazing and friendly. We feel very welcome. If you are an elk member I definitely recommend going and checking them out. They serve food that is excellent quality."

"Sure! Here's a polished version of your review that you can post on Google: --- I visited the pool as a guest with a friend who’s a member, and I had such a lovely time. It’s a beautiful, relaxing space — perfect for unwinding. The food and drinks were great; I tried the jalapeño poppers and they were delicious! The bartender was friendly and helpful. While we were there, a water aerobics class was going on, which added a fun, lively vibe without being disruptive. The pool area looked very family-friendly overall. We’ve also been to the Kaycee pool, which is larger and has slides, but honestly, I think I prefer this one. It’s much more laid-back and peaceful. The only downside is that there are no lifeguards on duty, which gives me a bit of pause since my kids are still learning to swim. But once they’re stronger swimmers, I can definitely see us moving to Elks. It’s much less expensive and really nice."
